Boys weekend away A bunch of friends from works decided to have a weekend in a town we'd never heard of. We checked the 'no frills' airline websites to see where they flew. Wroclaw stod out as a place we'd never heard of, and it was close enough for a weekend trip. |
Arrival in Wroclaw After a 2hr flight with Ryanair from Stansted we arrived in Wroclaw in the early afternoon. On leaving the airport we took a bus into the city centre. After chatting with the friendly bus driver, who seemed to take a shine to tourists, he agreed to drop us right outside our hotel. After freshening up at the hotel, we headed out to the town sqaure for a meal and soak up the culture. The town's architecture was a great example of Eastern European design. The town square was full of great bars, resturants, and clubs. We had a great night out in the town. |
Back Home After a lie in, we left for home the next morning at 11:00. Unfortunately we didn't have enough time in this great town, and I can't wait to go back. After this trip we caught the city break bug, and have since been to Prague, Hamburg, Amsterdam and Dublin. |

| Pros: | "Cheap flights, good airport transfers, beautiful architecture." | | Cons: | "A few young children were in the bars begging, but only in the late afternoon and early evening." | | In A Nutshell: | "A example of Eastern European architecture, and still quiet undiscovered by Westerners." |
