PROA Restaurant: Number One Restaurant in Guam (2)

Part Two of my PROA Restaurant Tips With More Pictures!

The PROA Restaurant in the Number One Restaurant in Guam According to the Virtual Touirists Sister Website, Trip Advisor!

Proa Restaurant was named after the Chamorro and Micronesia Outrigger Boat called "Proa". It is a Fusion Restaurant Serving Local Chamorro Recipes and Asian Cuisines that are tweaked by the Chef's to make them stand out! And you can see this in the nulber of their clientele at their small restaurant and dessert here at the Ypao Beach. Waiting time can be as long as one hour and the area is frequented by the Japanese Tourists, US Military People and a smattering if Locals. The also have a pastry shop in the premises called the Sweet Relief and they have the same entrance. If you don't want to wait in line, call their number for table reservations as they are open for Lunch and Dinner. The area is also a dating place since the restaurant has a small and romantic ambiance.

Hours
Mon - Sun: 11:00 am - 10:00 pm

According to their facebook Page:

the Proa Familia welcomes you to enjoy a memorable 'Hafa Adai' dining experience through our hand-crafted Pacific-rim styled menu and fresh made-to-order daily specials served with local hospitality and flair.
Save room for decadent desserts provided by Sweet Relief Pastry Shop.

A Proa Big Feller Trio with red rice Fiesta Barbecue meal will cost $ 14.95. Hy's Steakhouse: Pricey Steakhouse in Holiday Hotel (2)

Par two of My HY's Steakhouse Guam Tips with more Pictures.

Hy's Steakhouse Guam is the local franchise of the International Canadian Chain of Hy's Steakhouses (they also have franchises at Hawaii) but I find it Ironic that they serve USDA Steaks here instead of Canadian Angus Steaks. Hy's Steakhouse was founded by a Russian-Jewish Canadian Immigrant Hy Aisenstat in 1923 and it grew and has branches all over Canada and they have franchises of the Steakhouse in the Mainland United States, Hawaii and here in Guam. Still, I must eat at one of Guam's most expensive steakhouses as everyone knows that I'm a steak man and don't scrimp on costs. This luxe steakhouse is located at the Lobby Level of the Holiday Resort Hotel and the average costs of steaks here at guam like lone star steakhouse or at TGI Fridays is just $ 25-38 while here at Hy's its $ 35 to $ 65 for the steaks. They Only Open at Dinner and You Don;t need any reservations to go here.

Hours:

Mondays thru Fridays 10:00a.m. to 5:00p.m.
Saturdays: 10:00a.m. to 1:00p.m.
Sundays and Holidays - Closed

Favorite Dish: What else but the steaks!!!!!

If you are into Prime Rib Steaks, a 16 Ounce USDA Aged Prime Rib is $ 37.95
Roast Prime Rib of Beef, a 13 Ounce is 36.95 and 20 ounce at 47.95
Fillet Mignon, A 16 Ounce is 47.95
Their Specialty and the one I ate is the "Their only" new York Strip Dry Aged 14
Ounce USDA Medium Steak at $ 60.95

A Glass of wine is $ 7 and a bottle of wine is from $ 30 to $ 100, depending on the age and the season.
Cocktails like Mai Tai or Tequila Sunrise or Martinis at $ 9.95 an order.

Address: Holiday Resort Guam, 871 Pale San Vitores Road

TGI Fridays: TGI Friday's is Everywhere (2)

Part Two of My TGI Fridays Tips with more pictures.

TGI Fridays has two branches in Guam, here at Tumon and One at Hagatna, Facing the Chamorro Village.

TGIFridays is popular American restaurant chain focusing on casual dining, usually of the typical american huge servings, with over 500 restaurants across the United States, Canada, Mexico, Australia and the UK, as well as many other countries around the world including here in the GUAM. The restaurant chain is known for its appearance, with red-striped canopies, brass railings, Tiffany lamps, and frequent use of antiques as decor. It has a large menu with an emphasis on alcoholic beverages. A section of their menu is dedicated to the "Jack Daniel's Grill", a selection of items flavored with a special Jack Daniel's sauce.

Godiva Chocolatier: Luxe Chocolate and Chocolixir

There are many outlets selling Godiva Chocolates in Guam (like the DFS Galleria, ABC Stores, SM Store) but only one Sell Both Chocolates and the Famed Godiva Chocolixirs! and that is the ONLY BRANCH of Godiva Chocolatier Store in GUAM. Locted in La Plaza Mall of the Outrigger Hotel.

I may be a fan of Hershey's and Swiss Chocolates but nothing still beats the luxe brands like Godiva! (But My All Time Favorite is VALRHONA).n Although Made in Belgium, Godiva chocolates are creamier and has a more cocoa and chocolate taste and literally melts in your mouth due to the high chocolate butterfat content and the higher pure chocolate content so it is more expensive! unlike the other chocolate brands which dilute the cocoa with extenders like lechithin and vanillin to make the chocolate cheaper. Godiva Chocolatier doesn't do that hence the expensive price. Godiva also sells truffles, coffee, cocoa, biscuits, dipped fruits and sweets, "Chocolixir" beverages, wedding and party favors and other items arranged in gift baskets. Godiva's signature package is the Gold Ballotin (French for "small, elegant box of chocolates"). Godiva also produces seasonal and limited-edition chocolates with special packaging for all major holidays. Godiva also has license agreements for the production of ice cream, cheesecake, coffee pods and liqueur that comes in several chocolate-related flavors.

Hours: 10:00 am to 9:00 pm everyday

Favorite Dish: Chocolixir drinks are an established part of Godiva’s domestic offer in the mainland US where various recipes of the icy, chocolate-blend beverages with toppings of whipped cream are available including raspberry, mint, dark chocolate and milk chocolate. They are now available in GUAM.

If you buy the assorted chocolate drinks and brews like the Chocolixir, it's $ 6 for a cup and for chocolate tipped fruits like the strawberries i purchased, it's $ 8 per piece. and the single very decadent assorted chocolate truffles at $ 19 for 8 pieces and $ 38 for 16 pieces! a small pure chocolate bar like 85% pure dark chocolates at $ 5. such a drain in your wallet but is worth it since I don't scrimp!!!

Address: The Plaza Mall, Pale San Vitores Road, Tumon, Guam

Comparison: more expensive than average

Directions: The Plaza Mall, Pale San Vitores Road, Tumon, Guam. South Loop Trolley Bus Stop at front of Hard Rock Cafe near the Godiva Chocolatier Store.
