Name of Shop: Serramonte Center
Serramonte is a neighborhood on the border of Daly City and Colma in the suburbs south of San Francisco, California, USA, that is home to numerous shopping malls, strip malls, and big box retailers. The nexus of Serramonte is Serramonte Center, an expansive shopping mall near the intersection of State Route 1 and Interstate 280, in the triangle formed by Callan Boulevard, Serramonte Boulevard, and Junipero Serra Boulevard. Serramonte Shopping Center is a premier shopping destination for San Francisco and the Peninsula conveniently located in Daly City off Hwy 280 and Serramonte Blvd just 12 minutes from SOMA via I-280. With the closest Target to the city, Macy's, Mervyn's, more than 120 shops and the new Barracuda Japanese Restaurant, there's truly something for everyone at Serramonte!
What To Buy: The massive Serramonte Center contains more than 120 stores selling everything from jewelry to juice, making it a prime destination for Peninsula shoppers. Ample parking and an extended holiday schedule make this center particularly attractive to weekend perusers. The galleria houses Macy's and Mervyn's department stores as well as Foot Locker, Victoria's Secret, my favorite See's Candy, Hot Topic, Forever 21, Good Guys, Perfumania, Hot Dog on a Stick, and the Silver and Gold Connection and the famous philippine version of gap called "BENCH", Manila Bay Restaurant and other filipino outlets since this area is home to many filipinos. Opens: Mon-Sat 10am-9pm; Sun 11am-7pm
What To Pay: cheap, but cheaper if you go to the premium factory outlet malls in petaluma in the north or gilroy in the south.

Name of Shop: Petaluma Village premium Outlets!
Petaluma Village Premium Outlets is a shopping center with your standard fare of factory stores. Unlike typical outlet centers, this one is shaped like a real mall; with the parking lot surrounding the buildings. It makes it convenient to park once and walk store to store. factory outlet stores found here at petaluma are like those also found at many other factory outlets centers. However, there is an Off 5th Saks Fifth Avenue, Coach outlet, Mikasa, and Gap Outlet. This is part of the Chelsea Premium Outlets centers which boasts 25 such venues across the United States. In Northern California alone, they have one in Gilroy, which is the largest!
What To Buy: Many clothing and shoe outlets from Ann Taylor, Donna Karan, Jones New York, Brooks Brothers, Gap, Timberland, Bass, Saks Fifth Aveune, and more. Shop at home furnishings outlets like Mikasa, Villeroy & Boch, Linen Barn, Corning Revere and Le Gourmet Chef. Other outlets include Bose (electronics), Book Warehouse, K*B Toy Outlet, and Music For A Song at 40% to 80% off the tag prices in Regular Stores like Macy's, Sak's Fifth Avenue, Nordstrom, etc. but a Caveat: many items (but NOT ALL!) are old stocks or last years fashion! so you should really take time to inspect and scrutinize each merchandise to separate the Grain from the Chaff!
What To Pay: 40%-80% off the tag price in major shops! Hours: Mondays - Thursdays 10 AM - 8 PM Fridays and Saturdays 10 AM - 9 PM Sundays 10 AM - 6 PM

atufft Tue Oct 9, 2007 07:23 UTC Nice rundown on Cow Palace and Colma Gambling Casino. As I recall, the Cow Palace Parking is pretty risky. I had a bicycle stolen from my VW van in the 1970's during a Who concert:-) | GenuinelyCurious Mon Oct 8, 2007 23:41 UTC Your cloudy day at Alamo Square is a nice twist on the classic composition - really brings out the subtleties of the colors. | Manyana Thu Oct 4, 2007 09:03 UTC why does it look like as if tipping is invetible to well-being? interesting! | Lhenne1 Tue Sep 25, 2007 07:39 UTC I think you may have found the perfect way to define parking in SF..."Carry plenty of quarters and good karma." Excellent! :) |
