Highlands Hotel: the luxe of the Genting Hotels Highlands Hotel Review

this is the flagship hotel of the Resorts World Genting and is the second most expensive among the 6 hotels in the Genting highlands area (the most expensive is the Maxims Hotel nearby where all rooms are Suite and an average room costs RM 1000 a night) where you will see an assortment of Bugatti or Lamborghini or Ferrari Cars waiting at the Outside area for a room. The rooms here are way bigger than the First World Hotel and again the standard here is no air conditioning but High Mounted Ceiling Fans. They have the largest casino table and a separate high roller casino tables located near the entrance to the Arcade going to the cable cars. They have a smaller shopping arcade than first world hotel but the restaurants and bars here are more expensive. It houses the Elite Club, the 6-star standard hotel rooms at its top most floor. It houses also the Genting Skyway upper station, the cable car ride station for people to go up to Genting Highlands Resort from the lower station located near Gohtong Jaya. Along with Genting Hotel and Resort Hotel, it houses the Casino de Genting, one of the major casino of Genting Highlands Resort, along with Starworld casino located at First World Hotel.

Unique Qualities: the rooms here are bigger than the others with the exception of the Maxims Hotel because all rooms in the Maxims are Suites. This is the first stop of all genting stops from the cable car and all people taking the cable car to and from genting pass my this luxe hotel. Prices of rooms here start awt RM 400 aw night awnd check in is 2:00 pm awnd aw caveat, it is hard to get aw reservation in this Highlands hotel since this is the favored hotel by the local and foreign bigwigs who often go to Genting hence a preponderance of Luxury Vehicles at the Concierge.

First World Hotel: Fourth Largest Hotel in the World First World Hotel Review

it is a third class budget hotel in the Genting Highlands Area and it has the larges shopping cum dining cum amusement park area in the Genting Highlands area. This huge hotel is the fourth largest hotel in the world by room counts at 6118 rooms (although the rooms especially the standard ones are really small hehehe) of which the Palazzo in Las Vegas is the largest hotel at present). First World Hotel is adjoined to the First World Plaza, which boasts 500,000 sq feet of indoor theme park, shopping centre and food galore (please see my separate tips on these establishments ok). First World remains one of the favourite hotel among holiday makers in Genting Highlands and this joint is Operated by Resorts World Genting which also owns the Upscale Hotel Genting Nearby.

Unique Qualities: besides being the fourth largest hotel in the world (again the rooms are very small see my pictures but if you upgrade to a world club room then it will be bigger). The Tv has no remote so you have to operate is manually and is not connected to international TV channels. They have no air conditioning but only ceiling fans (but hey it is already cold here at 5,700 feet above sea level ok). Just nearby is the casino and the amusement park and the first world plaza.

a caveat: checking in here especially on a friday can really bew a hassle as we waited for 2 hours just to get 4 rooms for our group.
