This place is located 18km frm Shanghai downtown. Can be reached by subway line 1, get down at xing zhuang station, and take a cab (around 20CNY)
Qibao means 7 treasures in Chinese. It was built in Song Dynasty (960-1126) and grew into a prosperous business center during Ming and Qing Dynasties (1368-1911).
What I listed here are not the 7 treasures that gave it the name, but they are just the are attractions of Qibao today : Qibao Temple, Qibao Crickets, Qibao Shadow Play, Qibao snacks
The streets are narrow. Very narrow. With the people from Shanghai, tourist like me pouring into the it. Everywhere you turn, every direction you see, you'll see people, people, people.
You need to squeeze yourself through the crowds to move forward.
- Pros:Food !
- Cons:Crowd (imagine if u come in summer)
- In a nutshell:Interesting. A different world from downtown Shanghai
