"Welcome to my Homepage!" Prole's Profile
Hello, and thank you for stopping by! Just thought I'd tell you a little about me. If you've been paying attention, you'll already know my name, my age, where I live and some of the things I like to do. I work for myself in advertising, and although I enjoy advertising more than any other work I've done, for the most part, I only do it to pay the bills. My real passion is travel (why aren't you surprised??) And when I say travel, I don't just mean actually traveling. I love to talk travel, read travel, and yes, I even dream travel.. honest!!
To me, travel is more than just visiting popular destinations and seeing the sights everyone's always talking about. And unlike most travelers, I do not do it for the "education!" I just love meeting different people, trying new food, seeing how people live in their home environments, and looking at the sky in a new place. (I really, really think that the sky looks different when u look at it from different places in this world.)
I haven't been to many places (one more than what my homepage says though. I've refrained from mentioning one country I've been to. Why? The smarter ones amongst you won't have too much trouble figuring it out. Still don't know? ok, hint: Look at where I live!) , but I do wish to see the whole world some day. I dream of joining the Traveler's Century Club (a club exclusively for people that have been to at least 100 countries), and that's one of my biggest goals in life. (How sad is that?)
Why do I consider myself a traveler? Well, apart from everything else, here's two reasons that convince me I am:
1) I would love to go anywhere in this world (preferably somewhere I haven't been to before,) no matter how difficult, dangerous or boring people say they are.
2) Even though I love life and try to stay safe (I always wear my seatbelt), one evening in October 2006, I put on a helmet ( there were no extra armored vests,) risked road-side bombs and sniper fire, and went into Iraq, not knowing if I'd come back alive, for no other reason than to SEE Iraq!
Travel aside, what I enjoy most is reading, eating out, shopping and hanging out with friends or family!
Anyways, that's enough about me. I promise I'll try and keep all future information on my homepage interesting!
I stumbled onto Virtual Tourist quite by accident (is there any other way?) a couple of years ago while researching hotels before a trip to Egypt. It was love at first visit! Yes, the information was relevant, and yes, most of the feedback proved to be correct, but it was more than that. Few women have ever managed to set my pulse racing they way Virtual Tourist does. And so, soon as I got back home, I was online, renewing my acquaintance with VT, and I can say, it's been a wonderful first few days.
I plan to start with information and tips on Jordan, since it's still fresh in my mind. (I don't really have a choice, as most of the places I've been to before that are either just vague, booze-clouded memories, or extremely private ones.)
At some point, I'll begin working on my Kuwait pages. And they'll be simply the best Kuwait pages on VT!
