A wonderful parliament building - no other city in the world can boast of a more beautiful government building. Can you imagine that they let you in to witness the proceedings when the parliament is in session.You only need to carry your passport and make a request at the parliament building office.The security staff are so tourist friendly.The fountain in front of the building is superb.

This is a picture of Burgtheatre I took from the Rathaus on the opposite side.Burgtheatre was built between 1874 and 1888.The vaults over the grand staicases are decorated by Klimt frescoes.This place has occupied a fundamental place in the theatre circuit of Vienna and of Europe.

My way of capturing the Rathaus

Modelled on the town hall of Brussels , the Vienna Rathaus is a monumental construction on the Ring. The neo-gothic building has a central steeple 100 metres high !On top of it perches the 'iron man of the city hall' or 'Eiserne Rathausmann' by Alexander Nehr ( 1882)

A Beautiful Church

Situated in the modest square called Michaelerplatz is the simple but elegant St. Michael's Church or Michaeler Kirche.It was built sometime in the 13th century and remodeled in the 18th century.The original slender octagonal Gothic tower is still intact.

Hundertwasser: A Crazy Apartment Block

I just loved this building in the suburbs of Vienna.People are staying in these apartments , so discretion is advised while visiting it , to respect the privacy of the residents. I just love all those trees which are actually growing all over the building.
There is a little restaurant on the first floor terrace off this building.And a nice fountain in the courtyard too.

One of the biggest churches in the world.It's size will overwhelm you.The architecture is so wonderful.You'll need at least two hours to see this most important attraction in Vienna.

Votivkirche in the evening

Built between 1855 and 1879 in the French Gothic style , the twin towers of Votivkirche are 99 metres high. 300000 citizens of Vienna contributed by subscription in 1856 to meet the cost of the construction of the church.
