Ahmadabad is a historic city in the vibrant state of Gujrat. The old city is facinating with many crowded yet interesting markets.The new city is well laid out with hundreds of shopping malls and corporate towers.
The famous Sabarmati Ashram is on the outskirts of the city. Mahatma Gandhi lived there for many years and spearheaded India's struggle for freedom . A facinating museum has been built in the Ashram compound to throw some light on this giant of a human being.
The city is a delight for any traveller interested in vegetarian cuisine and traditional arts and crafts.
The summers are terrible and dry.Temperatures are known to touch 46 plus celsius ! Best time to visit this great city is December to February.

    I have been to this city number of times...love to roam around CG Road and CROSSWORD..hated the traffic around Sarkhej Road..enjoyed Gujarati dishes..too much sweet..
