The snow-covered mountains, the lush green slopes and the frolicking fountains of the valley are wintnesses of times past. Swat is a valley steeped in archaeological and anthropological wonders ranging from prehistoric caves to Aryan graveyards to Budhist monasteries. It has been a gateway for kings from ages past. From Alexander the Great through Mahmud of Ghazni to the Moghul kings of Dehli, the Swat valley has felt the treat of royalty.
