Beach at Paternoster - West Coast - South Africa

Pretty little coastal village

We visited this lovely little coastal village on a road trip around the Western and Eastern Cape. This is one of the most barren and yet beautiful coastal villages in South Africa.

Large development has not yet hit the area at the moment just holiday homes for those that can afford it, and nice little bed and breakfasts.

Lovely walks along the beaches but unless you like a cool bracing swim I would not venture into the ocean here.

Haven't been there in a while. Glad to hear the big developers haven't hit. But I wonder how long before they will? It's one of my favourite places as well.

Paternoster sounds and looks very inviting after checking out your tips! My wife and I like OTBP places like this and, after dealing with the south coast of New Brunswick, I'm used to freezing waters!

Voorstrand is one of our favourite restaurants as well. Choose your table well when the wind is blowing though. lol

Looks my type of place. Shame the sea is too cold for swimming.
