My first visit to Phuket was in July 2004 about 5 months before the devastating tsunami struck. Really a lovely place for a vacation something for everyone to do, from the great beaches, cheap shopping and plenty of entertainment in the evenings. |

|  | Phi Phi Island - Krabi Thailand We were also lucky to have visited Phi Phi Island on this trip as it was totally devastated in the Tsunami 5 months later. And was not worth the visit on our next trip which was 9 months after the disaster. We were however back there on our trip in 2007 and are pleased to say that they are well on the way to complete recovery although there was still a lot of construction work. |

| | Khao Lak - Thailand In 2007 we decided to add Khao Lak to our trip as we had never been there and had heared some good reports. Found it very quiet out of season and still recovering from the tsunami. Did however stay a a very nice little hotel and would certainly go back on our next trip. |

We stopped off at the "Chedi" near Kamala beach, stunning, used their beach and facilites...no comments from hotel satff, they were very friendly. |
