City of War is now a City of Peace I flew to Berlin from Luton Airport with Easyjet to Schoenefeld Airport. 45 minutes later I was in the city center. Berlin is a huge city and you won't be able to get around by walking. Luckily the underground and overground train systems are easy to use, think London or Paris and our hotel gave us a free transport pass for the system.
Unlike London no-one seems to be in a hurry. There is an undercurrent of relaxed pace that beats across the whole city, even in the rush hour no-one rushes, but its still the heart of the new Germany and how.
Berlin may not be famous for its food or drink but oh boy can they build things. Whether monument or building you are guaranteed to see the most amazing places, the equal of any city in the world. If your looking for an introduction to Germany, go to Berlin. |
