A Metropolitan City

Pyramids on the Giza Plateau; Menkaure's not shown
The Pyramids of Giza are located above the city of Cairo on the Giza Plateau. The largest of the Pyramids is that of Khufu (Cheops). This structure is made up of over 2,000,000 stones and it's weight is over 5.5 million tons. King Cheops was the second king of the 4th Dynasty, he ruled for 23 years. King Cheops was the father of King Chephren

Khafra's Pyramid-The second largest pyramid was that of King Khafra (Chephren). Chephren's was built around the year 2500 B.C. This is the pyramid that sits directly behind The Great Sphinx. King Chephren ruled Egypt for 25 years. King Khafra is the father of Menkaure. He was the 4th King of the 4th Dynasty

Menkaure's Pyramid-This pyramid was also built in 2500 B.C. and was meant to be the tomb of King Chephren. Menkaure was the son and the successor to the throne of Chephren. Menkaure ruled for 18 years he is the 5th king of the 4th Dynasty.
"Abu Hol" (Father of Terror) The Sphinx
I never get tired of coming here. I usually take more than enough pictures but they always seem to look different. Someday I will take the "perfect picture" of this place. Oh well, that's the story of an amateur photographer.
I like Cairo, it's a city of contrasts. where else can you go and see hustling, bustling metropolis and look into the distance and see Pyramids!
Pyramids that have been there for thousands of years.

I am horrified that Kaoud Delta treated you so badly, but all you have to do is look at reviews on Tripadvisor to see that most people think it's an awful place.
