I work for Kaiser Permenante Hospital in Redwood City, California. I am a Unit Assistant for the Operating Room. Most days my job is fun, some days it is not. However, it is never ever boring. I work with a lot of talented people, doctors, nurses, techs, and assistants. People that care about helping make people better. To me, when I'm at work and we are all doing our jobs and I listen, the sound is like an Auto Mechanic's Garage, only we're in the business of fixing people. (Pretty Good Gig!)

Tarek and I met in Aswan, Egypt in 2004. Tarek and I are alike but also very different. I think that's what makes us so appealing to each other. Tarek is the kind of guy that would be my friend, even if he wasn't my husband, he makes me laugh all the time. Tarek is a man with great integrity, he has a strong sense of who he is, and he always wants to do the right thing.

My husband is second in a family of five boys. My mother-in-law (God bless her), had her hands full with these guys! On the day I took this picture, I couldn't get them to stop laughing. (Khalid and Usama not shown in this photo). It's fun to watch them interact with each other, I can imagine them together as kids. The five of them together are caring and respectful to one another. they bring out the best in each other. Tarek's brothers are excellent husbands and fathers. Their parents would be proud of them.

I kind of stumbled on this by accident as long as I can remember there was cameras around my house. My dad was a pretty good photographer. He tried to teach me when I was younger, but I didn't pay too much attention (I wish I had listened). How I became interested in photography again was my first visit to Egypt. When I came home my photos seemed so flat and boring. Fortunately, I work with a few doctors that are interested in photography, so every chance I get I ask them questions, read books and magazines on the subject. One time I was a guest at a wedding and followed the wedding photographer around, (talk about being a pain in the rear-end) !

So forever being the perfectionist that I am, I am now on a mission to find the artistic/creative side of me through the lens of a camera. Take a look at the photos on my pages, let me know what you think, it will help let me know that I am learning and getting better.
