A nice place to stay for the business/older tourist crowd. Loved the luggage check as we arrived at 6 am and didn't want to haul around suitcases 'till the 2 pm check-in. In fact, our bags beat us to the room. The service was good. Helpful with directions and nice to buy museum tickets in advance so no standing lines at the museums. Special mention for Rose, a lovely young woman who was very helpful and friendly. I had requested a smoking room with Double bed on canal and got exactly that. Top floor and two large window that completely opened giving a great view of the skyline and the canal. Fairly quiet even with construction going on down the street. Bathroom was good size but shower was wonky. Even had a nice wardrobe with hanging area and shelves. They don't want you smoking the wacky-tabacky in the hotel, but HELLO, you are in Amsterdam! - Go a few doors down to Magic or up two blocks and take a right to Grey Area. And the rate was $115Euro a night! Good deal if you ask me.
