I was born in Nijmegen and I still live here. Boring? Not at all! Nijmegen is the oldest city in The Netherlands, but it is still very alive. Next to old, historical buildings are new shops and interesting modern architecture. Nijmegen is a city of students. There are many café's and bars, many restaurants with dishes from all over the world (Greek, Indian, etc.) but also fine dutch food. Nijmegen is also famous for it's summer festivities. They are connected to the International 4-Days-Marches, which start every year on the Tuesday in the third full week of July. The festivities start in the weekend before and take all week. The atmospere is international and wonderful. You must come and feel it! |
