Having worked for NHK (Japan's National TV Broadcasting Company) I knew a little bit about Japanese culture, but I was really surprised how much I enjoyed Tokyo and how my perceptions were so subtly changed.
I was surprised that most of Tokyo did NOT feel like this picture. I was also surprised at how few westerners were around, and I was surprised at what an enjoyable place I found Tokyo. Might have been the festivities or the company, but I was certainly pleasantly surprised. Read all about it in the tips below. (coming soon)

There are plenty of sleepy areas in Tokyo actually, however the average tourist doesn't really get to see them.
Great photos, tips, and commentary about some of the different neighborhoods in Tokyo.

Shibuya gave me culture shock! Kids here are so different from other parts of Asia. I love Tokyo!!
