Jacksonville is a lovely little speck of a town not too far from Medford and Eugene Oregon in the Rogue Valley. Once a gold rush town from the 1840's..the town has managed to retain its character. There are about 3 streets with 1850's buildings a couple of little bars and restaurants and a few bed and breakfasts.
Jacksonville is the home of The Britt Music Festival which gets some pretty big names for such a tiny little town. The venue is a great little outdoor amphitheatre on a hillside under nice pine trees.
We went to Jacksonville purely by chance and had a thoroughly delightful time. |
