Hot spots in LA change like the wind. The hottest spot has a lifespan of about 3-6 months or so. After that the only people you will see at spots like Sky Bar will be other tourists like you.

Update: The info below is like, totally outdated, but if you let me know I'll tell you what's going on! Right now the Standard downtown, is good but that's about all I know. White Lotus, The Smell. Dude, all I do is surf and hang westside these days.

If you are a hip happenin club kid, you can get the low down on what is happening in the LA club scene which changes very frequently by picking up a copy of the little pocket sized mag called 'Jointz.' Aside from the usual stupid article of some band giving an interview about taking herbal ecstasy or whatever, you can also get a pretty good lowdown on what's happening, when, where, and on what nights. Pick it up at music stores, head shops, restaurants etc.

Sunset Strip (Sunset between roughly Doheny and Fairfax) is the nightlife capital of LA. Hordes of incredible models (and their incredible silicon enhancements)mingle with cheezy producers. It's weird but pretty entertaining, and you never know you just might get discovered. ;-) Actually you can meet some cool people, but it's mostly like going to the circus or zoo! Have fun!!!!!!!!!! There are a bunch of places all along the strip that cater to wannabe's, be'. Any place that is really hot, you will have a tough time getting into unless you are an very beautiful and chic woman, phenomenally wealthy, there on an off night, or lucky. Even if you do get in, it probably wont' be to the back room which is where it's at anyway. But go, have fun, drink, and party.

Get your groove on in this comfortable lounge with good dj's. The place is dark and candle lit and real quiet until the kiddies roll in around 11 and everybody starts dancing...it's real fun!
