Venice can be a tourist hell or an incredible experience in this world treasure. You just need to know how to do it. Because Venice is an absolutely amazing place. Yes, it's a tourist destination. Yes, it is expensive. Yes it is crowded with tourists.
It is not ideal to see Venice during the summer. It is crowded and sometimes a little stinky. Anybody who tells you Venice is crowded and stinky and sucked went at peak summer season and started walking from the train station to San Marco in a tourist procession that i like to call the Venice Via Crucis.
I really like the late fall or even winter. I've even been to Venice right at Christmas. All the Hotels were closed. It was foggy and haunted and amazing! In the dark, you could hear voices echoing off the water and intricate mazes of bridges and passages. Nobody was there. Now that is Venice!
- Pros:Just Amazing and Enchanted
- Cons:Crowds, Hot, Touristy
- In a nutshell:Do It Wrong and You'll Be Miserable. Do It Right and It's Incredible!
