|  | It's Touristy & Unpleasant If You Do It Wrong, but Venice is an absolutely amazing place. Yes, it's a tourist destination. Yes, it is expensive. Yes it is crowded with tours. But it is also an incredible world treasure. You just need to know how to do it.
It is not ideal to see Venice during the summer. It is crowded and sometimes a little stinky. Anybody who tells you Venice is crowded and stinky went at peak summer season. |
| | It's Magic and Incredible If You Do it Right! I really like the late fall or even winter. I've even been to Venice right at Christmas. All the Hotels were closed. It was foggy and haunted and amazing! In the dark, you could hear voices echoing off the water and intricate mazes of bridges and passages. Nobody was there. Now that is Venice! |
