A quiet methodist town on the Jersey Shore...

Where, in the summer, people live in tents...

Central Ocean Grove in the summertime...

In the center of town, these little tents (often a comfortable living room, attached to a small bungalow with just enough space for a bed, a small bathroom and maybe a tiny kitchenette) are quite an exclusive affair-they generally remain in the same family and have to be reapplied for every year, people also having to participate in the community...

On the beach...

Early in the morning...

You're not supposed to drink alcohol in Ocean Grove, but you can relax on the beach, given you follow quite an impressive set of rules posted at regular intervals on the boardwalk (where you can ride a bike only between 3 and 10 AM!!)...

Pros and Cons

Pros:Summer fun close to NYC!
Cons:A big part of the State is industrial and not so attractive...
In a nutshell:Rock'n'roll country!

Unfortunately, Asbury Park has really gone downhill. :( Even so, I hope you enjoyed your time at the Jersey Shore! Best from NJ, Bill
