Faaborg | Thatched roof and Hortensia |
My love affair with Denmark began in the spring of 1987 when I visited my daughter, who was an exchange student living in the tiny town of Faaborg on the island of Fyn. Denmark is a clean, laid back country, full of history of the Vikings and kings and queens. We have become great friends with a couple in Faaborg, and try to visit them every other year. Here is my husband in their unique Danish house, built in 1776! |

| | Through the ivy One of my favorite things about Denmark is the floral abundance. This ivy arbor marks the entrance to our friends yard and garden, where she has rows upon rows of flowers growing for use in her floral business. Every Saturday morning, Tove takes her flower arrangements and bouquets to the market in Odense. I love the tradition of buying fresh flowers every week to decorate your house. |
