"Skoura" Skoura by earthflyer

Skoura
Skoura is the first town east of Quarzazate about 40km away and is often visited as a day trip. At first glance from the road, it resembles a sort of thin, long, oasis. However once you get off the road you discover that Skoura is very large and what appeared to be a line of trees is actually a flourishing oasis.

The best way to explore Skoura is on foot, walking among the palm trees and coming across mud brick houses and locals tending to there crops. Skoura is also famous for it's old Kasbahs which some have been restored and now we can visit them for small fee. The most impressive among the many attractive kasbahs is the Amerhidl, dating back to the 17th century.
