Chumphon
Situated 463 kilometres south of Bangkok, Chumphon is a sea coast city parallel to the Gulf of Thailand. It is the gateway to other southern provinces. Along more than 200 kilometres of Chumphon’s seashore, there are many beautiful and picturesque beaches. Still maintaining the natural beauty, the province is best for those who seek relaxation in the natural and uniquely quiet atmosphere.
With a coastline spanning over 200 kilometres, Chumphon has many serene beaches and offshore islands that are good diving spots. The lack of luxury resorts is an indication that Chumphon's natural attractions are still in pristine condition. Besides sea, sand and sun, it has an evergreen forest that offers an opportunity for trekking or rafting. For backpackers and divers, the city has an easy access to Koh Tao - the most popular diving spot in the Gulf of Thailand.
Thung Wualaen Beach has plenty to offer. Bungalows, guest houses, house rentals, bicycle and motorbike rentals, restaurants, stores, expeditions, diving; and kilometers long expanses of wide beach with nice sand and clean water And Thung Wualaen is relatively quiet considering the area's popularity. The only traffic will be local traffic, so motorcycling and bicycling are safe.
The city is accessibly by road and railways. Often overlooked by tourists, it has indeed a variety of natural attributes ranging from high mountain ranges, mangrove forests, offshore islands and fertile coral reefs.
