An Elegant Town with a Relaxing Atmosphere My friend Lucky, his girlfriend and I had a very enjoyable time in Salzburg. The town is pretty and elegant, pleasent to walk around and perfect for spending a couple of days in relax. As type of tourist destination, I would compare Salzburg to Florence or Prague: a compact, well-maintained centre with the main attrations, a city where you can drop your car and enjoy yourself walking around. Compared to the two, in my view, Salzburg doesn't have the stunning beauty of Florence or the urban vitality of Prague, but we really enjoyed the beautiful landscapes and views of the city as well as the city elegant and easy going atmosphere (In the picture you can see view of the city centre with the cathedral and the castle). |
| | Enjoyable Springtime According to some, winter is the best season to visit Salzburg. We were there in April, and we can tell you that spring is a terrific season to enjoy Salzburg as well. We were lucky enough to have temperate and sunny days that allowed us to walk and enjoy the beautiful views of the city as well as sitting outside for coffe-breaks or dining. These guys in the picture thought it right ... They made their own "alfresco" on their roof! |
| | An Overwelming Mozart You may already know that Salzburg is the city which gave birth to Mozart. Well, if you ever get to the city without knowing it, it will take you only few seconds to realize it. Whatever in Salzburg is about Mozart: you will find Mozart Square, Mozart coffee shops and restaurants, a Mozart house-museums and, of course, the famous "Mozart's ball" pralines, sold in almost every shops. Eventually we felt a kind of overwelmed with all this Mozart over-commercialization, to the point that we didn't visit the house-museum and didn't take home with us any Mozart's pralines! |
