Appologies for the unfinished site, I am updating it as I travel from town to town, internet cafe to internet cafe.....
In short, I was born in Western Sydney in N.S.W, and since a very young age have travelled around with my family to remote regions and areas of Australia holidaying in some of what I rekon is some of the most beautiful places on earth.
I grew up on a small hobby farm in Horsley Park, Western Sydney, 30 acres in total. My parents and family still live on this property.
To be continued...
Check out my Australia travel section for details on specific places I have been to. Here is a short list of the highlights:
NEW SOUTH WALES:
NORTHERN TERRITORY:
QUEENSLAND:
VICTORIA:
SOUTH AUSTRALIA:
WESTERN AUSTRALIA:
TASMANIA:
ACT:
Travelled around Peru, Chile, Argentina and Brazil. I will be updating this shortly.
I am departing South America on aboard the barque Europa, a ship from the Netherlands region. Bound for Cape Town via Antarctica, South Georgia and Tristan da Cunha. The voyage will last for a total of 53days.
From 28th February to 20th April 2007.
Here is some history about the boat i will soon join.
Since 1994 the barque Europa has travelled the seas of the world and built up the reputation of a ship that really sails. There is a professional crew of 14 and 48 voyage crewmembers. Towering above the decks are the 3 lofty masts, of which 2 masts each carrying 6 yards. In a light breeze up to 30 sails bellow from Europa, taking this stunning ship toward the horizon.
The ship was built in 1911, and was restored in 1994.
I will be travelling from Ushuaia, South America, through Antarctica, South Georgia, Tristan da Cunha, and finally to Cape Town.
The voyage has started from Ushuaia in Argentina. The southernmost city in South America is located alongside the Beagle Channel. From here, we cross ‘the Drake Passage’, renowned by sailors the world over. After passing the Antarctic Convergence Zone, the we sail between the icebergs to the South Shetland Islands. The animal life we are expected to see will be: Sea lions, seals, gulls, cormorants and petrels . A professional guide will give us information about the flora and fauna. The ice masses will get bigger as we approach the mainland. Steep glaciers, walls of ice with magical shapes and surreal colours will surround Europa with floating ice bergs on which the leopard seals live in addition to the many different kinds of penguins. We may also be lucky enough to see humpback whales, minke whales and even orcas came swimming alongside the ship. The last stop in Antarctica is Elephant Island, famous because Endurance’s crew survived there for five months while Shackleton went for help.
After five or six days the sub-Antarctic island South Georgia comes into sight. We will stay here for one week, every day anchoring in a different bay, among albatrosses and thousands of king penguins. In the cemetery of the old Norwegian whaling station Grytviken we will find Shackleton’s grave.
On board we will learn the names of the hundreds of different lines and 30 sails. Day after day, we will see wandering albatrosses, dolphins playing in the bow wave and many more special things. After ten days a tiny island in the middle of the southern Atlantic Ocean will come into sight, Tristan da Cunha. We will anchor here for a few days, and let’s hope that the swell isn’t so big that we can’t land safely. Three hundred people live on this most isolated spot in the world. They share an island of 11 square kilometres with huge numbers of sea birds. The grey-headed and yellow-billed albatross are commonly seen and the rock-hopper penguins breed here.
We will then set sail for the final part of the expedition towards Cape Town, glorious sailing again with the westerly circumpolar winds blowing from astern.
Ten days later we arrive in Cape Town where seals are bathing in the sunshine or lying on the quays.
I will update this web page as my adventuers unfold.

Sharon, that sounds like a brilliant trip - what an experience, to do the Drake Passage on a windjammer! I'll be looking forward to that and your other pages.
