Rome is the worst city in the world in terms of petty theft. Rome gets the most tourist out of any city in Europe, so they have more pickpockets than anyother city also. The subways, buses, and tourist attractions are the main places to keep an eye on your belongings. The pickpockets are creative and often work in packs. I can remember a bus ride where someone saw a pickpocket and yelled to all on the bus to watch the man. With the help of other people pickpockets can be twarted. But watch yourself.
