The Metropolitan Museum or "The Met" houses every category of art from different parts of the world. It's huge, you can get lost in there. If you're an art lover, plan a day or 2 to visit. Recently, admission fee went up to $20. I did hear that these fees have always been optional but visitors still pay anyway. Twenty bucks ain't that bad and the collections are marvelous and worth every penny.

Not just a suburban commuter station. This is also a venue for casual dining, public events and even tours. The way this station is designed: arched windows, high ceilings, marble floors, vaulted ceiling painting of constellations... it's like walking in a palace. It's hard to believe it's just a terminal.

I have not gone back to this site since 2003 so I am not sure what it looks like today. The picture here was the "under-reconstruction-stage."

We actually took the train to go to NY's neighboring state, New Jersey and headed down to Liberty Park to view the Statue of Liberty from afar. At that time, there were so many people waiting in line to get to Ellis Island. Not a bad view and it's actually a great place to picnic, play frisbee or laze around and read.
