Coming to this town is like a quick flashback to the old Holland in the 17th century. The place is soo delightful -- from windmills to traditional Dutch green wooden houses to hump-backed bridges to vast fields. This is a must see area. Unfortunately, I got no tips to spit out for this day trip. Bring your camera I guess... go on a beautiful-beautiful day. We were lucky to have dropped in and the sky is blue, sun is out, not chilly (I'm the only one that's not wearing a jacket..woos!). Enjoy walking around! If you're in Amsterdam, take a quick day trip to Zaanse Schans. It can't be no more than 10 miles distance wise (I think it was a 20 minute drive for us...that includes getting lost, making a U-ey, smoking cigs, reading street signs and figuring out a not so friendly tourist map).
