"Aussie Living In Japan"

by aussielivinginjapan - last update: Mar 19, 2007

Life in Austalia....vs Life in Japan.

View of Mount Fuji from my apartment
This where I have been living for the last 4 year love it and hate it. Make trips back to Australia on the Gold Coast regularly as that is where my family is.

Anything I can tell you about Japan im more than willing to help coz I know how hard it can be to find information about how to get around this strange country.
How can you not want to lay and soak up the sun

My hometown...Gold Coast Australia.

What a beautiful place. So much to see and do i love the experience im having living overseas but i really miss the beaches.
Kaminomiya beach...the town i lived in for 1 year

Now this is a beach in Japan...oh my

Got to love the black volcanic pebble beaches with shore breakers so big you cant even swim in the murky brown / green waters...hmmmm.

Where do you want to be? I ask myself again......
Some of the kids i used to teach

Then again..I do remember why im here...

Reason number one the kids i teach are just too cute and the job is great. Plus i get to see and experience so much of a different culture everyday.
Sakura (Cherry Blossoms)

The plus side...this is what I get to experience

Tokyo is such an exciting city with so much to offer. Im living in country where I can experience lots of different foods, sights and smells.

My favourite time of year here is spring.

Its so pretty. And all the cherry blossoms are out. Parties in the parks, drinking sake, chu-hi under the sakura and relaxing in the warm spring sun...
Tanabata Festival

I get to dress up for festivals..

This was a the Tanabata festival for the school I was working at. Im dressed in the traditional summer kimino called (YUKATA). It was actually very hot to wear considering it was summer and so humid lucky they have air conditioning everywhere here.
