210 miles from the Mountains to the Beach on foot! Autumn in New England offers a dazzling display of foliage- especially if you are interested and able to enjoy it by foot. There are many opportunities to get out into the fresh fall air of New Hampshire, but the most fun event by far is a foot race called "Reach the Beach". This is a 210 mile relay running race that begins in the Bretton Woods Mountains and ends at Hampton Beach. Don't try to accomplish this alone (although if that's possible then I'm impressed) instead, invite 11 or 12 of your closest friends to join in on the fun. This is an actual race held every year in September. The scenery will take your breath away... and so will running up all those gigantic hills in New Hampshire. Usually, its still warm enough to really enjoy Hampton Beach when you finally get there. |
| | The most fun you can have with your clothes on! That's my team, otherwise known as the ROAD Islanders. What a crazy crew- but let me just say that they are some of the best people you could know. Most of us met because we've all run marathons while raising money to end the blood diseases of Leukemia and Lymphoma. These folks can run and by god, their hearts are generous too! |
