I think they opened in 2011. Its located in the backyard of a home overlooking the pool. Very cozy. It is owned by a group of friends, one of whom is a chef.
Favorite Dish: I like their appetizers: very witty and clever. Pate and empanaditas are my favourite. The home brewed iced tea is also delicious. The burger is ok and the other main courses are also ok. Nothing great. I go there for the appetizers.

The ambiance is not so great and the place is a bit smallish but its a small price to pay for really good food, home-cooked style. My sister in law loves the chicken wings so much, she stripped the chicken clean to the bones that not even an ant could get something off. The food is definitely value for money.

The bestsellers are of course chicken parts: specifically free range chickens (native chickens). Closer to barbecue/roasted - I can't really describe it in english since its a toss up between the two. All I can say is that it tastes GOOD!
The chickens are lean so one could probably polish off half a chicken, maybe even whole.
Favorite Dish: Chicken wings, chicken gizzards, chicken liver, chicken butt(?)
Address: Reclamation area
Comparison: less expensive than average
Directions: East of SM mall. A little ways past the Cathedral and Plaza. Lion's Park is besides Manokan Country strip. All taxi drivers know where manokan country is.

Most everything on the menu seemed good. We went there as a family. My mushroom hotpot was very tasty. Husband's Shepherd's Pie was superb. Mama's tuna was yummy.
Only the pasta dishes were a disappointment.
Favorite Dish: Try Kinilaw. its raw fish covered in vinegar, tomatoes and onions. Good.

if you want authentic Japanese, Kuidaore is the better choice. The food is typical Osakan and is the closest to the food we had in japan. The place is small and is owned by an Osakan. Its more expensive at 300pesos per person. Its a small place, just 5 tables and mostly Japanese and expatriates eat here.
The other Japanese restaurant is Kaisei which serves Filipinized Japanese food. They probably use a lot of msg. The plus side is that the place is bigger and nicer. Plus you get to see a good cross-section of Negrenses here. Kaisei is also cheaper at 150 per. You can even have budget meals at 100 per.
Favorite Dish: fish cake at Kuidaore plus of course their yakiniku (barbecues). Don't order prawns. nothing special. all their sushis are fresher too.
Kamameshi at kaisei. that's the only thing i like.
Address: Araneta St. (kuidaore)/ Lacson St. (kaisei)
Comparison: more expensive than average
Directions: across gaisano mall (kuidaore)/ near PNB (kaisei)

not a good photograph but its really REALLY tasty
For the best chicken inasal (a local form of barbecue), chicken house is the place to go. They have a room with ac where they add 10% surcharge. Service is quick. Restrooms relatively clean. Locals eat here and the place is always full.
Favorite Dish: All parts of the chicken : leg, wing, liver, kidney, blood, feet - everything.
