Getting TO/AROUND: When taking the taxi, make sure you tell the driver that you want to use the meter. Otherwise, they will give you a steep price especially if they know that you are a tourist. The taxis that are passing along are more likely to agree on using the meter than those who are waiting in que. For example, we went to the suan lom night market and one taxi insisted on charging us 200bhat. We declined and took a taxi w/c agreed to use the meter & we ended up just paying 60bhat..
