Bangkok What a place!

by diverdown1970 - last update: Feb 23, 2007

Bangkok

Well my trip was business related as are most of my trips. I actually only spent 25 hours roughly in Bangkok and, I must say very depressed when I had to leave for the airport. I arrived after a very long journey from Miami to LA, LA to Seoul, and Seoul to Bangkok which overall took close to 30 hours with layovers. Made bearable only by the fact I flew Korean Air from LA on and it was one of the cleanest, nicest, most accomodation airlines I have ever flown. I would fly them anywhere I could. I arrived in Bangkok at around roughly 10PM and checked into the Hotel Intercontinental. Oh and I left Miami on Monday 6PM local time and got into Bangkok on Wednesday night around 10PM local time.

The Beginning of a short journey

I checked into the Hotel Intercontinental selected by my company. The hotel was fabulous and very upscale. The cost was around $110 US per night if I recall correctly. I thought the Intercontinental in Guatemala City was luxurious the Hotel Intercontinental in Bangkok was even more so if possible. Checkin went as normal and was very easy. The staff is extremely friendly and helpful. Rooms were also very nice but does not include free internet access not that I really had time to use it.

My first and only night out

I read many thing and about many places in Bangkok though I headed straight for Nana Plaza. If your into adult entertainment this is the place. Thats all I will really say about that so as not to further ruffle any feathers. So this is kinda brief. The following day a friend took me around the city to see the Palace and the Main Temple there. All I can say is it was gorgeous! The detail and time put into each of these temples was unbelieveable. Never in my wildest dreams could I have imagined such beauty in a building. I would explain in detail but just can't put it into words. All I can say is it's something that needs to be seen in your lifetime. I will post pics later but you just need to see it to appreciate the beauty. I already plan on going back in the fall during the cool dry season again.

Pros:"The Temples and the people are truly awesome."
Cons:"hmmm, really can't find any"
In A Nutshell:"If you don't visit Bangkok your missing out on one of the true wonders of the world."
