"Stavanger" a Stavanger Travel Page by Igraine

Visited Stavanger for the second time july. This time to visit my good friend Rusket who lives here when she isn't at her station. It was very nice to see this place again, felt like nothing had changed, even though they were rebuilding the street on the harbour front. And the big ship that was in harbour moved and a brand new shopping mall.

The second city of our Norway tour was Stavanger. We arrived here after a turbulent ferry/buss trip from Bergen.

We arrived in heavy weather but when we woke up the sky was once again bright and sunny. Excellent to explore another of Norways gems.

Stavanger is currently well known because of the oil industry. This city is the starting point for the people working on the oil rigs and a lot of suppliers have their offices here. Therefore a lot of english is spoken throughout the city.

Also Stavanger has its park with a big pond and a fountain. If you are here you are not far from the railway station and the city center.
