Visiting Greece for a VT meeting is one of the best things a person can do. We stayed 2 days in Athens before going sailing to Santorini. That does have a familiar ring to it. With this difference that the marina is mich easier to reach these days because there is a tramline going from Pireaus station along the sea front.

I was in Athens for a few days and after that i set sail for a trip in the Sarionan gulf. I think it was a nice combination of culture and relaxing. I like the sea and the sun but not lying on the beach so the sailing was a excellent alternative. There are loads of companys which offer sailing trips all around Greece.

The beautifull women forever standing on the Akropolis.

Although.... forever, pollution has take a hard toll on them.

Pros and Cons

Pros:the weather, warm sea water
Cons:crowded during summer

The "Spear thrower" looks a colossal sized statue! Thanks for sharing, Greece is beautiful!

It must be surreal to stand next to the Spear Thrower. When I was at the museums in Paris, I was mesmerized by the art work that I have studied and seen in history of art books until then. SL :)
