welcome to all my friends

Candles & glasses

I have decided to skip the 2009 euromeeting in Portugal. I am sure it will be big fun as usual but I just can't fit it in. Hope I will be around next time. I have signed up for the Kortrijk meeting in may.

The first advent weekend of 2008 is behind us and so is the 4th annual gluhwein meeting. It was wonderfull as ever. The gluhwein was yummy, the company outstanding and the christmasmarkets just as they should be. It set just the right mood for the upcoming holiday season. Karlsruhe I will see you and your wonderful inhabitants next year again!

I put a nice little finish to my summer by going a week to Southern France for a camping trip. I soaked up some sun, floated in a river, cooled down in a pool. Ate French bread for breakfast, smelled the amazing fragrant air. Almost heaven.

Well that was Santorini. We had a jolly good time but it all started a few days before with the boat trip. See the pictures in my t'logues at my Greecepage.

It took a while but i finally got a computer back at my new home, about time after 1,5 month. Its just as well that i could check VT while working (haha, dont tell my boss!). But it is far more relaxed to read forums from home.
I did find time to book myself to the Gluwhein meeting in Karlsruhe on the 15th of december. I am sure Bernd and Andrea will provide a fitting program for such an occassion. Germany here i come!

Well i kept my last years promise and returned to the UK soon. I went to Scotland for 2 meetings in Glasgow and Edinburgh. But i also went on a (too) short tour around the Highlands and the isle of Skye. I made a t-logue about my trip to Applecross.

Meetings are so addictive! I just got back from the Marbella meeting and now i already signed up for the next one! Will be going up north for my next meeting. Claus has finally gotten around organising a meeting in Copenhagen. I knew he would give me reason to visit this city!

I just booked my flights to Malaga and signed up for THE Euro VT meeting starting on the 5th of May. I am very much looking forward to see Carmen and Stacey again. London is just too long ago.

Mariajoy will be in Amsterdam coming week. PJ will show her the sites and I will join them for dinner in the Jordaan. PJ has chosen a restaurant with a very good looking menu. So I am very much looking forward to see PJ and his wife again and of course Maria, with whom I do not have the honour yet to meet. See the pictures here

The UK was wonderful, driving on the wrong side of the road easy peasy, very good weather. So all in all I had a very good time. Promised myself that i would not wait as long as last time to return to the UK.

Going to the UK 23rd September for a 4 day break. I will go by car so wish me luck with driving on the wrong side of the road!

I am all set to go to the Maastricht meeting on 20 and 21 August. Looking forward to see the familiar faces and of course the new. Imaniac has cooked up a program already that doesn't look bad at all. ( do hope of course that he leaves me some spare time to look at some shops! Maastricht is one of the best shopping cities in the Netherlands). Also in Maastricht one of the best places to have a drink, the Vrijthof.
If you are in need of a lift, i am going to Maastricht on friday the 19th already. You can drive with me in the early evening. Till then!

Karlsruhe

Meetings are wonderful! They really are. They give a whole different perspective on going somewhere. It is not all about the place you are going to see but also about the people you are going to meet. New people, familiar faces and people that feel like a second family. Making you wish they lived a bit more closer to home. Then again part of the fun is leaving home.

At this year's gluhwein meeting we girls roughened it up at the best western queens hotel in Karlsruhe. And look they did serve something else besides gluhwein as well. Tequila sunrise, Singapore sling and planters Punch. Cheers girls :)

Winter Holiday

I went to France for a skiing holiday first time in my life February 2005. It was a great experience and certainly something I would like to repeat in the future. I just loved all the snow! Maybe that is because we dont get snow in the Netherlands that i like it so much. And i love the smell of snow, where i live in Middenbeemster it always seems to smell like mud.

I have made my La Toussuire page. I have added it under Fontcouverte-la Toussuire.

While waiting for new notices you can always try this. New game, i figured you had hit enough penguins by now. But be warned it is a really silly game.
