Mariposa, California is a fantastic little town that looks like it isn't. Mariposa is spanish for butterfly. If you want to enjoy a butterfly you have to stop the car and get out and look at it. The closer you look the better it gets. Butterfly is an appropriate name for little Mariposa. First impressions are that Mariposa is a small place. Most people just use Mariposa for the last pit stop on their race to Yosemite National Park. Zooming through town all you tourists will miss a lot of great stuff, plus you will get a ticket. So slow down and enjoy Mariposa. Read my reviews for insider info on this lovely little town that most people miss.
