I stayed here for one night in 2006. My friend and I had just returned from staying in a Parisian youth hostel, so the accomodations were like heaven. The pillows were so fluffy! The service was good as well, and the close location to everything made a trip to dinner very easy. Our room was a bit small, but the comfort of the hotel makes up for it.
Unique Qualities: Historical, comfortable, great location, haunted?, It's where they invented parker house rolls and the Boston cream pie.

Have stayed in this hotel about five times in the past 3 years. The service is amazing, with free DVD rentals from the front desk and turndown service with cookies. Apple cider in the lobby at times as well. Rooms are incredibly spacious. Fenway rooms looks out to Fenway Park, and are smaller than the Commonwealth rooms which look out to Kenmore Square. The view will be much better out the Commonwealth rooms if they ever finish building that bus station. The commonwealth rooms are also great during baseball season for crowd watching. The hotel is right next to the Kenmore T stop, which makes travel very convenient. It's a great place to stay if you're a parent visiting a Boston U student.
Unique Qualities: dvds at the front desk, turndown service, Eastern Standard restaurant downstairs, great location near Fenway park, incredibly comforatble, professional staff

This hotel has a very convenient location near Fenway and Boston University. It is a good buy, but is a bit run down. The lobby is refurbished and very nice, but the rooms could use some re-doing. The rooms are very big though, some having a livingroom and a bedroom. The layout is also alot of fun- it's very easy to get lost in the hallways. Even though the hotel has somewhat modern decor, it also has an old-time essence as well. It reminds me more of a hotel one is likely to find in Europe, rather than in Kenmore square. The rooms are nice, but a bit dark. Bathrooms are very nice, and large though. They even give you a nice toothbrush as part of your typical shampoo/soap toiletry stuff in the loo though. Overall, this hotel is a good value for a good location, and isn't as bad as some reviews make it out to be. It could use some refurbishment, but it is still liveable as it is. it's good for a one night stay. Good place to stay for visiting kids/ friends who go to BU.
Unique Qualities: There are kitchens on some floors. I am not sure why. The winding corridors are fun. Breakfast is complimentary in the restaurant downstairs- Bagels, toast, cereal, muffins, etc.
