Like Kota Bharu, Kuala Terengganu is a very genuine Malaysian city, however, it is not as spectacular and interesting as the first one. Usually, one does stop over there for the reason that KT is a jumping-off point to go to the nearby Malaysia’s most beautiful islands, the Perhentian Islands. Kuala Terengganu means the “river mouth of Terengganu”, it is located about 500 kilometers northeast of Kuala Lumpur and is surrounded on three sides by the South China Sea. Kuala Terengganu is the state and royal capital of Terengganu state. The main economic activities of KT are - retail and wholesale trade in food items, - fabric and apparels, - fisheries, - agriculture, - service industries and - tourism TransportationDon’t worry, KT is connected to other towns and cities via an excellent network of roads and also some ferries that cross the Terengganu River. On the other side of the Terengganu River there is even a domestic airport. |
