New York City Travel Guide: 15,525 reviews and 30,893 photos

Before my visit to New York I was extremely excited and was looking forward to the trip. I have seen so much of this city in movies, on television, travel guides etc. But, nothing could prepare me for the amazing experience of this fantastic city.
During our short stay of a little more than 3 days, we tried to see and do as much as possible; all the touristy things one do on your first visit to a new city.
The pace, atmosphere, feel of the city is something I have never previously experienced in any other city.
This page is best seen as an introduction to New York, as I only spend 3 nights in this amazing city.
I cannot wait to go again!

Highlights

Lady Liberty

There are so many highlights. I suppose most people do try to see as many of these as possible. New York has so many well known icons, and it is not difficult to get to see most of these, even if you are there for 3 to 4 days.
What I enjoyed the most:
Watching Chicago at The Ambassador, the total sensory overload of Time Square, visiting Ground Zero and the views from Brooklyn Bridge. There are so much more!

Some Practical Tips

Manhattan

If you in NY for only a few days, it is actually good to do some planning.
When visiting Lower Manhattan, you can go to Ground Zero, from there, walk to Brooklyn Bridge, then take the Staten Island Ferry for views of Manhattan and Statue of Liberty.
Do the same type of planning for the other areas, in order to save some time, like visiting the Gugenheim after spending time in Central Park.
