Oman

I visited Oman for the first time during December 06/ January 07. Omani people are some of the most friendly I ever met during my travels.
It is easy to travel in this country.
Another outstanding aspect is that it is not overcrowded with thousands of tourists.
It is a country of great diversity, and well worth visiting for a second and third time (or more).
During my first visit to Oman, I used Muscat as a base, and did day trips from there. I would like to visit the Southern part of this beautiful country.
The country has a very relaxed atmosphere, and seems to be very peaceful.
This is my very first page I write on VT, and I really enjoyed doing it!

The Capital

Mutrah

"Three cities" make up the capital Muscat, it is Ruwi, Mutrah and Muscat.
Muscat and Mutrah does not have a big city feel, rather that of a big village.
Ruwi is the business district and very different from the previous two "cities". It is very easy to travel between these three areas.

Muscat has a beautiful bay, with a corniche which comes alive at sunset.

I had to take another look at Oman- I am SO looking forward to our trip! The Wahiba Sands will be a must see for us, and Nizwa. Thanks for good tips.
