Welcome to Jordan!

Diversity of Jordan

Jordan
Jordan is a beautiful country. The diversity Jordan offers is one of the many reasons to visit this small country in the Middle East.
It is in this country where Jesus was baptised by John the Baptist, where Nabateans carved the beautiful city of Petra out of rock and where you can wonder around the old Roman city of Jerash. But, it is not just history, you can also enjoy the buoyancy of the Dead Sea, visit old Coffee Houses, smoke nargileh and shop for handicrafts in Madaba.

I spent 7 days in Jordan, and realised that it was not nearly enough. I did not get to spend time in Wadi Rum, Aqaba and many other places I wanted to visit.

Jordan is also an extremely safe country. I never ever felt unsafe at anytime during my visit. It was very interesting to see that some shops leave boxes of bottled mineral water and other beverages outside during the night when the shops are actually closed. Cars are left unlocked with open windows etc.

I hope to return to Jordan to experience more of this wonderful country.

I am planning pages on Amman ; Petra ; Jerash ; Madaba ; Salt

Friendly Jordan

‘Welcome to Jordan’ is something you will hear very often. Although it might not be unique to Jordan to be welcomed so often, here I felt that it was more sincere than any other place I visited before.

The Jordanian hospitality is not a myth, but really exists. Jordanians are extremely, and, genuinely friendly and hospitable.

Highlights

There are many highlights. There are also highlights I missed during my first visit – so I have to return. But, here are some I do treasure:

The wonderful, friendly people of Jordan

Petra

Experiencing the uniqueness of the Dead Sea

The Holy Sights

Jerash

The wonderful town of Salt

Downtown Amman
