Introduction | Buddha image - Wat Doi Suthep |
Chiang Mai is a laid back and interesting city. It is a city with beautiful temples, friendly people and great food. It is the second largest city in Thailand, about one hour’s flight from Bangkok. It is not that difficult to get around, and you can do a lot by foot, although transport options are plenty and not that expensive. After Chiang Mai, I went to Bangkok for a few days, and the contrasts are amazing! I suppose one should not compare the two cities, Chiang Mai is definitely worth a visit for a few days (maybe more). 95% of Thais are Buddhist, and there are more than 300 temples in this city, it gives you the oppurtunity to learn more about this religion. |
| | What to do What to do in Chiang Mai 1. Visit Wats and Temples 2. Enjoy the great cuisine 3. Explore the city by foot 4. Visit some of the many markets 5. Massage 6. Unfortunately there was no kick-boxing matches during my short visit 7. I’m sure there is much more to see and do |
