Introduction

Bangkok is a BIG city. With terrible traffic and pollution ; but, the people are great and I think it is a city to experience, rather than to do too much sight-seeing. I’m sure people would differ, but find Bangkok to be amazing and almost an overwhelming experience. New/modern and old culture lives side by side in this city.
I think it is important to do some degree of planning when visiting.
Wat Pho and the Grand Palace are in the same area, and also close to a taxi stop. So you can do quite a lot in one day around this area.
I found the boat and canal trip very nice. It gives a total different view of Bangkok.

A short visit

Shop

I only had a few days in Bangkok. It is difficult to rush through the city in order to see as much as possible. I therefore visited some of the sights, so that I also had enough time to experience certain areas of the city by foot. Then you also need some time for shopping!

There are quite a few things I did not get time for, including:

I. Thai boxing
II. Jim Thompsons House
III. Lumphini Park
IV. Ayuthaya

Pros and Cons

Pros:A lot to offer, an almost overwhelming experience!
Cons:Pollution

Dag Skat. I nice page on Bangkok. The reclining Buddha is amazing-and I like the River & Canal Trip tip.The traffic sounds as mad as in India.

Fun page about Bangkok. I have visited Bangkok many times. Sky train is the easiest way to get around. River taxi any time better than tuk tuk which overcharges, you smell the fumes and still get caught in the jams. SL
