Delightful Delhi

Delhi, the third biggest city in India, is a joy to visit. I visited Delhi on by second visit to India. How different to Mumbai!
You might be irritated by all the touts, (as soon as you put foot out of the hotel), but with a little effort, you will experience a different Delhi.
I do like meeting local people and get to know a city from a non-tourist perspective, besides visiting the more obvious attractions.
Delhi is quite big, and you will have to use public transport to visit many of the sites of interest.
During the months of December/January, when I visited, it was quite cold in the evenings and we had a lot of rain.
One of the best ways of exploring Delhi is by foot. You might take a taxi to be dropped at a certain location, but do wander aroiund by foot and you might discover many wonderful things, like the street artist in the picture on this page.

Interesting Delhi page. The Red Fort and Humayun's Tomb are indeed beautiful looking buildings. I can virtually smell the heavenly aroma of the Spice Markets.
