Hamlin is a really safe place to live or visit. The crime stats show it to be in the 95% rank of safest cities in New York.

The only issue that Hamlin has is the crime of rape. There have been 4 in the last 5 years.
There are 3 registered sex offenders in the area.

We have relatives who have lived in Hamlin for two generations and have never had the slightest problem. As a tourist, all you have to do is use common sense and do what you do in your home town. Lock doors, keep an eye on the kids and don't go to unfamiliar places by yourself or late at night. Keep it simple, keep it safe.
