Charlotte Beach (Ontario Beach Park) - Charlotte

Charlotte...... shahr-let (accent on shahr)..... that is in North Carolina.
This is shur-lot (accent on lot), upstate New York.

Small neighborhood of the city of Rochester, bordering on the towns of Irondequoit and Greece.
It used to be a thriving river port. The river is still there but Charlotte is more of a marina now (I'm sure some commercial traffic goes from the Genesee River to Lake Ontario but mostly you see personal boats). The biggest claim-to-fame it has presently is the beach frontage (Ontario Beach Park) and the eateries and the carousel and until Jan2007, the Fast Ferry.

There is the Charlotte Tavern where all the locals go, and Charlotte High School where my wife's friends went before they graduated to the tavern.

I've been going to Abbotts for 50 years and it still is great ice cream.
