Brugge The Beautiful

Too Beautiful for Words

Oud Sint Jan
Brugge has been called many names by locals and visitors: Brugge the Beautiful, Venice of the North, etc. But for me, it but...home.

Believe it or not, writing about Brugge is far more difficult than writing about the other places that i've been. It is home. This is where i spent half of my adult life.

Brugge, the beautiful is one way to describe it. the views are fascinating, the people are friendly, the sights are captivating and every museum is worth a visit.

Let me show you around my hometown...
The Brugge Train Station

At the Train Station

Your journey starts here. You can take the bus to get to the Market Square, or take a walk along the beautiful footpaths surrounded by greeneries and flowers.

Brugge is just an hour away from Antwerp and Brussel and half hour from Gent. There is a Thalys international train that comes and goes to Paris Nord. The trains are usually comfortable and has some special rates on weekends. See: http://www.b-rail.be/main/E/index.php
Terraces at the Minnewaterpark

Pretty as a picture.

Brugge is pretty as a picture. It is cosy, medieval and culture rich. Every year, thousands of tourists from all over the world come to our town to enjoy the beauty that this tiny city has to offer.

I am privileged to be able to live here. On my spare time, I go around town, taking pictures of places that I have missed to capture in my early days in this city. I love the tea-rooms and coffee houses. I love the cobble stones and medieval houses. And most of all, I love the people and the foooooooood!

Please enjoy my Brugge page. I have written a few tips down below that might help you find your way on your visit to our city. Welkom en goede reis!
