THERE IS REALLY NOT MUCH DIFFERENCE BETWEEN A 16-YEAR OLD YOUNG MAN AND A 45-YEAR OLD WOMAN, EXCEPT THAT ONE IS A BUDDING TEENAGER, THE OTHER ...NOT. YET, BOTH OF THEM COULD HAVE THE SAME SENSE FOR ADVENTURE.

Our adventure started when, after looking at the back packs displayed on a rack at a Carrefour Shopping Store, decided to buy one, and on a spur of the moment, thought: “Hey! We’re going back packing in Paris!”. A few minutes later, I found myself filling the said pack with some personals and begging my travel agent to squeeze us into a Thalys or Eurolines sched for the day after the morrow. Why the day after and not right away? Hey! I needed at least 24 hours to finish the 254-paged Guide Book to Paris that I bought together with the back pack. Well, my son was just as enthusiastic as I was. Backpacking in Paris? Well, that’s somethin’. When he was a child, I used to bring him a whole lot of times to Disneyland Paris. We were there at the opening year of the then Euro Disney and had been going there two to even three times a year, until about two years ago when he decided to outgrow Mickey and Minnie, to become an official teenager. Seeing the cultural side of Paris didn’t really come to our minds. Exploring the infamous City Of Light was going to be a very wholesome quest for the both of us.
